PHRYGIA. Eumeneia. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. 1/3 Assarion (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.96 g, 1 h), for Livia, Kastoris Soteira. HPA ΛIBIA Draped bust of Livia to right. Rev. ΕYΜ/ΕΝΕΩΝ / ΚΑΣΤΟΡΙΣ / ΣΩΤΙΡΑ within wreath. RPC I 3143. Rare and interesting. Minor cleaning marks, otherwise, very fine.

This is an interesting issue in that it hails Livia as Hera, and in that the reverse is signed by a Kastoris 'Soteira'. Kastoris was apparently a local benefactress who was granted the title of 'savior' by Eumeneia in gratitude for her (unspecified) benefactions to the city
